SILC Server is a fast and compact SILC server and is easy to set up. It is ideal secure conferencing server for small networks and scales well on Internet as well. The SILC Server can act as normal SILC server, SILC router or as backup router.
 
 
Full SILC Protocol 1.2 Support
 
The SILC Server includes full implementation of the latest SILC protocol version 1.2. All features of the protocol are implemented, including the latest new features like session detaching, channel public keys and certificates, extended WHOIS command, anonymous connections, etc.
 
 
Easy And Fast To Setup
 
The SILC Server is simple to install and fast to setup. When SILC Server is installed a new SILC Public Key pair is created for the server. The installed example configuration file provides extensive examples to configure the server. Server can be configured up and running in matter of minutes. Security is very important part of the SILC Server and the actual SILC Server does not run on priviliged level.
 
 
Backup Router Support
 
The SILC Server is capable of acting as backup router for the primary router. If and when primary router becomes unresponsive the backup router may take the responsibilities of the primary router to assure working SILC network, free of netsplits.
 
 
QoS Support
 
The SILC Server supports so called Quality of Service (QoS) which can be used to manage the data throughput to avoid excess data flooding and to limit the throughput to a certain level.
 
 
Highly Configurable
 
The configuration file format in SILC Server is simple and it can be used to configure dozens of different features of the server. It can be used to configure for example server's logging, rekey timeouts, reconnect timeouts, QoS, detaching, authentication, keepalive, ciphers and other algorithms, and, client, server, router and backup router connections.
